Pine Rosin is a solid form of resin which comes from pine. The liquid resin is heated which removes the liquid terpene, making it solid.
It appears hard, but melts easily when using a double boiler method. For even faster melting, the chunks can be crushed between a tea towel or with a mortar & pestle to produce a powder.
Pine rosin is known for its benefits when making food wraps. It allows the wraps to become tacky, making it better to fold over food and stay in place.
